Prof. Martinez, talks about his book “The Chemical Element: Chemistry’s contribution to Our Global Future “(Wiley 2011) as a contribution to the United Nations declared 2011 as the International Year of Chemistry. This book illustrates the enormous contributions that chemistry has delivered to the community in improving our quality of life, health, access to water, poverty reduction and jobs creation. But mostly “The Chemical Element” is a call to the world’s scientists to put their talents to help reach the Millennium Development Goals.

As the spokesperson for African Youth, and Regional Youth Network for Forests for Central Africa, the author calls for PEACE, RESPECT OF STATES SOVEREIGNTY AND WISH OF REAL SOLIDARITY in Africa. She also feels it’s an obligation for the Young Generation of African Leader’s to continue to stand for peace and national unity by making patriotic choices. The author calls for supporting and encouraging all youth and youth leaders to give power to good ideas of development in their countries.
